Homo Lumens is a visualization of the connection between the presence of light and the existence of
human beings; the representation of humans as the embodiment of light itself.
The embracement of human’s soul came to light when an indescribable presence which lies in a gray
space between matter and wave—light—began to draw breath. With a mix of design and technology, this
visual representation is reimagined in the form of a 3D render with a splash of generative art as a twist of
the audiovisual exploration approach, delivered as a site-specific projection mapping installation.
Determined by the audience's definition and interpretation, the message goes hand in hand with the
meaning of light in a personal way as they step into this immersive and ethereal experience.
The omnipresence of light has carried the growth of mother earth until it created us, homo. We are an
insignificant being in the universe, dominated by the presence of physical light as a source of energy,
communication, and life; yet still be able to embrace the light as a part of our universe as it affects our
mood, mental state, and consciousness in general. In between this abstract feeling of the unknown, we are
grasping the meaning of it as we manipulate the virtue of this ethereal being; we become light (lumens)
itself.
We, the light, are refracted into reality, diffracted between time and space.
The simplicity of human’s presence in their own limited space is visualized as a small sample of
intertwined connectivity in both a physical and non-physical manner; connecting lights as we speak,
sparking light as we emit emotions. The interpersonal connection of a meta-modern society utilizes light
as a huge reverberation in their daily importances, while in their interpersonal connection they emit the
‘light’ itself—mood, perception, knowledge, wisdom—which radiates through the window of our of
souls as we sublime into the void, embracing the warmth beneath the sole purpose of light—(creating)
existence.
